09 Apr I bet you I can run 10k in under 51 minutes – All proceeds to Charity.
I am a lanky, useless runner who easily gets tired and gives up but I have decided to support my closest friend through her cancer by doing a run for her chosen charity ‘The Christie‘ – http://www.christie.nhs.uk/
The run is in Huddersfield, my home town, and spans 10km or 6.21 miles. Through weeks of gruelling training I have managed to bring myself to 8.57 mins/mile (from 10.54 min/mile) meaning If I maintain – it will take me just over 53 minutes to complete this run.
The race is on the 2nd May and I am hoping to get the run down to under 51 minutes which is an 8.21 minute mile.
On my Justgiving Page I go in to the specifics but basically, to make it a little more interesting, if my time is less than 60 minutes I will only ask 50% of your donation (you are obviously welcome to pledge full amount) but if I complete the run in 51 minutes or under then you have to pay up the full amount 😉
My link to the page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/The10kJacob – please give it a look and tell your friends.
The target is £150 so a quid from every reader would surpass that amount by miles!
P.s. this is how painful running is for me – have a good laugh!
